Standards Check Toolkit

Our Standards Check Toolkit course has been written to give trainers specific do’s and don’t’s to be aware of during their assessment in response to feedback from ADIs attending previous courses.  This guidance gives a solid basis for a sound approach to driver training and your standards check.

Attending the course will prove beneficial for day-to-day driving lessons in addition to having extra confidence during your Standards Check. Our belief is that a high quality training approach is delivered everyday and not just when your standards check invite is due or comes through.

This day will focus on four core areas:

  • The Learning Process
  • The Client Centred Approach
  • Teaching Skills
  • Risk Management

The material covered during the course is based on an in-depth analysis of the DVSA ADI1 document, which is the official guidance for driving examiners carrying out instructor tests and checks, and is supported by publications aimed at the driving instruction industry as well applying ideas from other sources.

Using group-work and real life case studies, delegates will discuss both good and bad examples of in-car training to equip them with the essential ingredients needed for a comprehensive Standards Check Toolkit.
